When it comes to imaging libraries you have two choices in ways to pay: Cash or barter.
Barter is dominated by the big dog Reel World and their multi formatted Production Vault service. Other players include Brownbag Productions, represented through Premiere Radio Networks - and the newcomer Ready 2 Go Country from Superadio. These barter services are full of listener and artist audio, plus music beds and imaging material to produce your own content. In general the barter terms are a spot or two per day 6A - 7P depending on your ratings, and your market. If your a successful station, that can be a lot of inventory (potential revenue) to give up.
That is why many successful stations choose to pay cash for their imaging libraries. Cash libraries have struggled with the late AV Deli/Creme Machine having become the most familiar brand name. Another cash library worth checking out is REVOLT - a library sold through Krash Creative Solutions.
InsomniaFX is a new player in the field, with what they call "The next generation in audio imaging". The demo is worth a listen, but what you'll like most is the price: just $199 for over 500 cuts. The other big positive is these are royalty free imaging fx, so there is no ongoing commitment. That in itself is a major difference between the cash and barter services.
InsomniaFX is available for download in WAV, and MP3 formats, or on CD/DVD.

I would like everyone to know that AVDeli is alive and well @ avdeli.com. We now accept either barter or cash for our online service. Thanks! David Hunter, Executive Producer, Phoenix, AZ
